Del Valle - East Shore Trail
WOW! I had no idea that this is such a beautiful place! The first section of the hike was a long uphill climb that took about 45- 50 minutes with a couple of stops. The rest was a very nice meandering moderate hike along the lake. Spring is definitely the time to do this hike. It was a cool 60 degrees at the warmest. Since there is absolutely no shade, it was nice that it was overcast most of the time. It was also very green and lush. Don't forget to reward yourself after the hike by stopping at the Wente Winery (1/2 mile down the road on your way back towards Livermore) for a really good glass of Morning Fog Chardonnay. CHEERS!
